A new pair of Mokume Gane cats , finally completed and carded up. This is a long process. starting with a stack.
New moulds arrived this morning for owls, This is by far the best button mould received so far. It's deep and the detail is great. Today have made dark emerald owls, and various brown ones using the leftovers from some Mokume Gane clay. Also started the Cernit nature clay. Have a friend who is building a model church, so used my celtic cross mould to make him some granite gravestones for his churchyard. Hope he likes them;-)
Esme's Buttons has just published their website this evening. Esme was a very special tortoiseshell cat who shared our lives for 16 and 1/2 years. She died towards the end of 2011, and has given her name to this enterprise.
We've been creating buttons since the end of Feb/beginning of March, got a page on Facebook, sold a handful and had two commissions. We're now at the stage of wondering what we should do next. Craft Fairs need Public Liability Insurance, not cheap. Are we business? Do we need to register with the Tax Office? All confusing things. We're just enjoying letting our inner children have fun!!
It's been an amazing journey so far. And have met all sorts of incredible people along the way. More soon xx
