After sending much of our stock to Swaffham Gift Emporium and Pramoda Gifts, we have decided to downgrade to the small free shop online, and to have changing themes to showcase our various ranges. We are starting with our new Steampunk range.
........ DAWN SAVAGE.
Please contact us so we can come up with your prize, in your chosen colour. Many congrats Dawn :).
After the excitement of the last two days setting up in two shops, we are getting back to button making this afternoon. Yesterday some new moulds arrived to make large cogs (for steampunk), dogs (as so many people have been asking) and jigsaw pieces which fit together. We are thinking fridge magnets for the jigsaws, then remembered that jigsaw pieces are used in the logo for Autism Awareness, so may be trying to develop something along those lines. It's lovely to be back in my living room/workshop. conditioning clay and making buttons again :)
This morning we set up a shelf at Pramoda Gifts in Downham Market. We are selling different stock to that at the Swaffham Gift Emporium. Here, we have a different range of buttons, namely our flowers, teapots, cupcakes, animals and more art buttons. We are also selling our steampunk key rings at Downham. Let's see how it goes :) Here we are below in the shop window ....
Esme's Buttons moved into Swaffham Gift Emporium this afternoon where we are leasing two shelves. A very exciting day for us :-) There are some truly talented people selling their wares in the shop. Do come and visit us there. The shop opens on Monday 1st July, with the Grand Opening on Sat 6th July at midday.
AND, we've made it to the front window too.
Started some new buttons yesterday having received our new Steampunk texture sheet. Having fun with the metallic micas as always.
The other news is that we received confirmation today that we have been allotted space in a new Craft Centre in Swaffham called Swaffham Gift Emporium. Woop woop! Next week is all about setting up, then it opens to the public on July 1st with the official opening the Saturday after, July 6th - all very exciting.
Esme's Buttons has bounced back a bit since Friday. We bought a mini-oven this morning so we can now use that solely for curing our buttons. We also bought a mini food processor, but decided we'd keep that for the kitchen for coffee beans. We have our fingers firmly crossed that we may have a space in a new Craft Centre opening soon, not too far away. Watch this space xx
Lots has happened during the last month. We've continued making buttons. New designs include (amongst others) Russian dolls and roses. Then we sent off for public liability insurance 'just in case' we ever were up for a craft stall. Well...yesterday was Worldwide Knit in Public Day, and St Edmund's Crafty Knitters hosted an event locally. Four of our group decided to club together to rent a stall for the day, so Esme's Buttons had it's first outing in public. It was truly terrifying for me. Even with supportive friends there too, I felt completely out of my depth, had a panic attack just before setting out and almost cancelled altogether. I really don't think Esme's Buttons will be attending any more craft fairs. We will continue to post pics online, and maybe the odd sale as before, but that's about it.
