If you belong to Esme's Buttons' members' club, then I'm pleased to announce that I have just drawn the March winner by random generator.
The winner has £7.50 to spend at my Gotshop. You must make your purchase through it, and leave a review. Thanks.
I've been playing on Picmonkey to come up with a more simplistic logo for when it's called for. Have settled (for now anyway) on this one.
Over the weekend I've started knitting button wristbands. I think these may go down well during the Summer. Hope so anyway!
This morning we now have 3500 views on our new online shopping site Gotshop. We have worked hard this year to increase our 'reach' on social media and it seems to be paying off. Next stage is to translate the views into sales :-) Jan/Feb/March are always quiet months sale wise, so we are not too worried !
Our Facebook page is having a giveaway right now. We are 4 likes away from 1500 likers, and when we hit that number, all who have commented on our pinned post at Esme's Buttons will be entered into a draw to win their choice of name in alphabet buttons. It could be for yourself, or a child/grandchild. Look for this post on our FB page:
It's our 2nd birthday today. How time flies! To celebrate, here are our latest Celtic Knot Buttons :)
Been a bit Steampunky this weekend. Completed my challenge for the #pavelka project, which was making a CD clock. I chose this theme.Love the gothic hands.
After I finished that I still had some of the clay left, so I made this Steampunk Shawl Pin. Neat eh?
We have now started selling on Gotshop. There is a wonderful support group and it's a lovely site for selling. Click on the picture below to go straight there.
Face canes are so hard to do! These are the only salvageable things I've managed to make with them. The canes distort as you add hair, and try to reduce them. Best call this work in progress.
Thirteen people took advantage of the new Members' Group at the website, to win a £10 gift voucher to spend on our products. Here is the result of the draw.
MANY CONGRATS TO YOU SUE MERRIMAN!
Feb offer will be posted tomorrow. Do join us.
These are always popular at this time of year. This batch is made with pink sparkly clay. The small buttons are 2cm x 2cm and cost 50p each. The larger ones are 1/2cm bigger in each direction and cost 70p each. They are perfect for that handcrafted Mother's Day gift whether it's knitted, crocheted or sewn. I can also supply them without holes. The embossed words read #mother #kind #strong #beautiful #thoughtful #unselfish #bestfriend #special and #devoted.
They can be any colour or shape. Just get in touch if you have a request :)
This week's project for the "52 Weekly Cane Projects" continues the face theme. The task this time was to construct a man's face. The tutorial was written specially for the group by Isabelle Vacher . The cane on the left is the packed cane before reduction. The reduced cane is on the right. I have over 6" of this cane, and will have to put my thinking cap on to come up with some ideas on how to use it.
This online group started in Jan 2014, and we have just started Year 2. Each month is a different theme, and within the month there is a different cane each week. January 2015's theme is "faces". So far we have had a sheep cane and a face cane.
I have used the sheep cane so far to make buttons
and shawl pins plus a little trinket bowl.
If you are planning your first craft fair, or want to improve the look of your packaging, then you should think about using personalised stickers like these from DiscountBannerPrinting.co.uk
When I first set up Esme's Buttons in 2013, these were the first little stickers I sent off for. I liked the fact that they had MY logo on a little clear rectangle, and I have been back for more. I use them on everything from luggage labels to which I have sewn buttons to labels on my craft table, to mailing envelopes being sent out to customers. They are very good quality, and I take a roll with me to all events we attend .
On the website we now have a 'members' page. If you register/log in, this page becomes visible to you. Each month we are running giveaways/competitions/special offers. Once you apply, I will need to add your name to the members' list before you can access that page. This is to say thank you to our customers/fans. xx
My friend Lesley who belongs to the Red Hat Society, commissioned some buttons recently. What with the house move and then Christmas, I didn't get get a chance until now. What do you think? These ones have shanks and will be attached with a little knitted loop. I could make holes instead but suspect the hat will collapse somewhat!
Having been given the green light, I had a think about what else I could make apart from buttons. Here below are the results :) I've since made some clip-on earrings too.
Hello everyone, have you missed us? We spent the last 2 months moving house and then had no internet access. Happy to say that we now have a phoneline in our old cottage and the internet was switched on today. We are almost straight, but just need to find homes for a few boxes of things! We are decorated up for Christmas, and have one last fair to do next Saturday!
We enjoyed a lovely day at Denver Windmill today. The fair was organised by J&R Giftware, a local Denver business, and hosted by the mill. Stall fees and Raffle takings were in support of the COPD nurses at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King's Lynn. It was a small fair with just 8 stalls, but we had a steady stream of people all day, and did very well. Denver Windmill is a beautiful venue in a great location.
This week we have started making 6" x 6" deep canvas baby keepsakes. The canvas is 100% cotton and made by a well known art canvas company. While we can source the canvas at the current price we can sell them at this price. They are perfect for a New baby Gift, Baby Shower/Christening Gift or any other occasion you can think of. The teddy/elephant/etc can be any colour. The letter tiles are also made by us and can spell out whatever you want as I can design the canvas with fewer edge decorations if necessary. I can fix a baby ribbon around the edge or leave it blank. There is no need for a frame with this kind of deep canvas. It will hang from a hook in the wall and look great in any baby's nursery :)
